This game is a wonderful mind game that has medical evidence that it retards Alzheimer’s.

The Theodor Herzl Club, one of the largest bridge playing clubs will be providing a Grand Master to teach you to play.
Jeff Fust, an outstanding leader of bridge teaching will take you through the language of bidding, card play techniques, declarer play and rules of the game.
He does this not by giving you rules and formulae for the game, but teaches you to think through the problems for each hand.
This will be the best basis of becoming a good player in the future.

Del’Monte will be running advanced lessons
on improving your Defence. Who should
come? If you are an advanced player and
would like to really do something practical

Ish as he shares some Top Tips for improving your Defence. Michal is
only in Australia for 4 weeks and we are very privileged that he will be
joining the Kings & Queen’s team for the month of September. During
these sessions, 2 of the most talented bridge players in Australia, will be
going through all the trade secrets of how you can play like they do.

For September we will hold a 4 session Butler pairs event. Table fees are $15 with $500 to be
awarded to 1st place overall, $300 to be awarded to 1st place in the restricted. There will be many
other prizes up for grabs such as the opportunity to play with Ishmael and Justin in October. We
can’t wait to see you all back at Spink Street for the re-opening of the Thursday Night Event that
Jim Borin made so famous in Melbourne. If you can’t make all sessions don’t worry, you can come
along for as many as you can.

Successful pairs from the Club Selection stage will be eligible to compete in the Regional Final held on 14th November.

Successful pairs from the Regional Final will qualify for the National Final to be played in Canberra in January 2011.

Entrants must be under Life Master status as at 1st January 2010.

A 1 day Directors Course conducted by Laurie Kelso (Victorian Chief Tournament Director).

An Introduction to Directing.

9.30 am - 5.00 pm with a 30 minute lunch break.

opening of Jim Borin’s Room!

Jim Borin was not only the original owner of the
now Kings and Queens Victoria; he was also one
of Australia’s leading players and an amazingly
kind man. We are dedicating this room to Jim to
recognize his contributions to Australian bridge
and to show our respect for Jim. From everyone
down at 20 Spink Street, we would like to invite
you down to play in the session and join Pam
Borin in opening the room. There will be prizes
awarded to the winners and spot prizes given
throughout the day. This will be a great day of
bridge, finishing with complimentary champagne
and nibbles for the opening of the room.
